Sean McVay was not a fan of ‘torturous’ morning-after Super Bowl press conference

Sean McVay was not a fan of the early morning press conference after the Rams won Super Bowl LVI, calling it “torturous.”

Sean McVay and the Rams spent the night partying after winning Super Bowl LVI, as every championship team should. The details of their celebration were not made public, but it’s safe to assume every player and coach had a great time.

That’s what made McVay’s morning-after press conference so brutal. After celebrating all night, McVay had to get up bright and early to field questions from reporters just before 9 a.m. PT.

Needless to say, he wasn’t thrilled about that scheduling quirk by the NFL. In what he had left of a raspy voice, McVay called it “torturous” to put him through a press conference that early the day after the Super Bowl.

“Incredible honor to be here. It’s also torturous to have a team win a championship and then make you come the next morning and do a press conference this early,” he said.

McVay didn’t have much of a voice left after leading the Rams to a win on Sunday and then celebrating with his players afterwards, but he fought through and delivered some thoughtful answers in the aftermath of the game.

He did so without much sleep, either. Peter Schrager said on NFL Network this morning that he got a text saying the Rams were still partying at around 6:30 a.m. local time.

At the conclusion of the presser, he delivered a fantastic quote that’s also NSFW.

“All right. Three questions my (expletive),” he said as he walked off after fielding more than 10 questions.
