Sean McVay tied for 2nd-best odds to win NFL Coach of the Year

Only Kevin Stefanski of the Browns has better odds than the Rams’ Sean McVay.

Looking ahead to the 2021 season, there are a handful of teams that are considered legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Chiefs and Bucs are obviously up there, as are the Packers, Bills, Ravens and 49ers.

The Rams are unquestionably in that group with the third-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium. Sean McVay has an abundance of talent to work with and a new quarterback under center, so he’s in a good position to lead the Rams deep into the playoffs.

According to BetMGM, he has a great chance to win his second NFL Coach of the Year award, too. At +1600, McVay is tied with Kyle Shanahan, Andy Reid, Brandon Staley and Brian Flores for the second-best odds to win the award, behind only Kevin Stefanski of the Browns (+1200).

That means a $100 wager on McVay to win the award would return $1,600.

McVay won Coach of the Year in 2017, his first season as an NFL head coach. He completely turned the Rams around, leading them to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth after the team went 4-12 in 2016 and had a sub-.500 record from 2004-2016.

The Rams have gone at least 9-7 in each of his four years at the helm, and with the talent they have on the roster right now, there’s no reason to believe they can’t win at least 10 of their 17 games in 2021.
