Sean McVay on Cooper Kupp’s injury: ‘It didn’t look good, it didn’t sound good’

Sean McVay didn’t have much of an update on Cooper Kupp’s ankle injury other than saying it didn’t look or sound good.

For the second time in three weeks, Cooper Kupp was unable to finish the game. He suffered a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter against the Cardinals on Sunday, going down after a low hit by cornerback Marco Wilson on a high pass.

Kupp was examined on the sideline where he went down and then again on the bench before he hobbled to the locker room with the help of trainers. He was quickly ruled doubtful to return and never made it back into the game.

Sean McVay didn’t have much of an update after the game, but he admitted it didn’t look good initially.

“I don’t have anything on Cooper right now,” McVay said. “I just know it didn’t look good, it didn’t sound good. I haven’t had a dialogue with Reggie (Scott), but we’ll obviously have further updates later on.”

McVay will meet with the media again on Monday night, at which point he’ll most likely have an update on Kupp’s health ahead of Week 11. The Rams play the Saints next Sunday in New Orleans, but Kupp’s status is likely to be up in the air once again, just as it was in Week 9 after he injured his ankle the first time.
