After a disappointing season that fell short of the team’s goal, James Harden and Kyrie Irving are ready to go. Expectations are even higher than they were last season for Brooklyn. Although Nets GM Sean Marks is excited for the start of the campaign, he has his sights on some more years with the big three. He has already successfully extended Kevin Durant’s contract, but Harden and Irving are still yet to sign extensions:
“We’ve had very positive conversations with both those guys,” said Marks during a press conference on Tuesday. “We’re looking forward to sitting with them over the course of next week … two weeks … and furthering those discussions again.”
The Nets GM also addressed the media on the health of this electrifying backcourt:
“From what we’ve seen, they look great. Our performance team has been with them, our coaching staff has been with them, spending considerable time with them. I can attest that they’re in good spirits. They’re ready to go like the rest of the team.”
