Seahawks to wear blue jersey/gray pants combo for Week 7

The all-important news of the week has dropped: the Seattle Seahawks will be wearing their blue jerseys with gray pants as their Week 7 uniform combination. It will be the first time in 2023 the Seahawks will be wearing one of their more popular combos.

Although this may be one of the more fan-favorite looks, Seattle has not been extraordinarily successful in these threads. They are sitting below .500 all time with a 5-6 record. Last year, the Seahawks wore this combo twice. Once in a 30-24 loss to the Panthers, and the other during their 23-6 win over the New York Jets.

The team announced this breaking news via their Twitter account.

Now, if you are overly obsessed with uniform records (and borderline superstitious) like I am, you are probably wondering “hey, wait a minute, I thought Seattle had to ditch their gray uniforms!” I was wondering the same thing. The team did have to retire the gray jerseys once they introduced the throwbacks, but according to John Boyle of Seahawks.com, the team was allowed to keep the gray pants.

Unfortunately, this means they can still wear the dreaded white jersey/gray pants combination, where Seattle is 3-9 all time. But we’re not going to focus on that right now. Instead, all attention will be spent on the Week 7 showdown against the surprisingly better-than-advertised Arizona Cardinals.
