The Seattle Seahawks have been able to maintain a perfect start to their season – now 4-0 and the atop of the NFC West. They aren’t the only undefeated team, however, with the Packers, Bills, Steelers and Chiefs all big winners so far and all ahead of Seattle in Touchdown Wire’s latest NFL power rankings.
Even after a Week-4 win, Seattle remains at No. 5 on the list.
“The encouraging story for the Seahawks in this 31-23 win was a pass defense that had been historically awful through the first three weeks of the season, and made more sense of things by backing off and keeping Ryan Fitzpatrick’s throws in front of its defenders – and this happened without safety Jamal Adams and cornerback Quinton Dunbar, both lost to injury,” writes Doug Farrar.

“Cornerback Shaquill Griffin, who’s been an up-and-down player throughout his NFL career, may have had his best professional game, allowing no catches on six targets,” Farrar continues. “And little-known defensive back Ryan Neal picked off a pass for the second straight week. If Seattle’s defense can be even league-average with that quarterback, watch out.”
If Seattle’s defense can catch up with Russell Wilson and the offense, the Seahawks should be able to climb out of the No. 5 spot.
