Seahawks slip to No. 12 in latest USA TODAY NFL power rankings

The Seattle Seahawks have yet to find a way to re-sign DE Jadeveon Clowney to the roster, leading to their drop in the NFL power rankings.

The Seattle Seahawks have been fairly active throughout the first wave of free agency despite the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the nation. While team facilities have been closed and most physicals put on hold, Seattle has found a way to sign a few new faces to the roster and potentially fill a few holes.

However, what the Seahawks have not yet been able to do, is to secure defensive end Jadeveon Clowney to a new contract keeping him in the Emerald City for the long haul.

For this reason, Seattle has slipped from No. 8 to No. 12 in the USA TODAY’s latest NFL power rankings.

“Just about everything broke right for this team in 2019,” USA TODAY’s Nate Davis writes. “Still waiting for word if Clowney’s 2020 decision breaks their way, too.”

If it does, re-signing Clowney for the 2020 NFL season and beyond will have been Seattle’s biggest move of the offseason so far.
