The Seattle Seahawks remain as active as ever when it comes to their practice squad roster. On Wednesday morning, the Seahawks signed a pair of offensive players to their practice unit. Wide receiver Miles Boykin and running back Brittain Brown are the latest members to the Seattle organization.
Brown was mainly a special teams player for the Las Vegas Raiders, the team who drafted him in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL draft. He played in six games, but did not record any statistics on offense. He is a familiar face to Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet, as both were members of the UCLA football team together. Brown spent the 2023 season on injured reserve, and was waived when the league had the deadline to trim rosters down to 53 players.
Boykin entered the league as a third round pick by the Baltimore Ravens during the 2019 NFL draft, and spent the first three seasons of his career in the Charm City. After his initial stint with the Ravens concluded, he remained in the AFC West by jumping ship to their primary rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his career with both teams, Boykin has hauled in 38 receptions for 498 yards and seven touchdowns.
Unfortunately, as with every practice squad transaction, their arrival means someone has to be released. Drawing the short straws this time were defensive tackle Quinton Bohanna, and former Seahawks 2019 second round pick Marquise Blair.
