Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny named NFC offensive player of the week

In Sunday’s win over the Lions, Penny ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny had a brutal first few years in the NFL. His career was slowed by injuries and inconsistency on the field. However, over the last several weeks Penny has blossomed into the most productive back in the entire league.

In Sunday’s win over the Lions, Penny ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Now, he’s been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

Seattle declined his fifth-year option, so Penny will become a free agent at the end of this season. Re-signing him should be on the team’s to-do list this offseason.
