Seahawks make signing of guard Chance Warmack official

Warmack will compete with a slew of youngsters to be the starting left guard for the Seattle Seahawks, if he can stay healthy.

One week after reportedly agreeing to terms with free agent guard Chance Warmack, the Seattle Seahawks have made the deal official.

Terms of the deal have not been officially disclosed, although it is likely a one-year pact with little, if any, guaranteed money.

Warmack was taken 10th overall in the 2013 draft by the Titans out of Alabama, where he was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide.

He ended up playing right guard for Tennessee in his first three seasons, making 46 total starts before a broken hand limited him to just two games in 2016.

From there he made his way to Philadelphia, where he won a Super Bowl ring serving primarily as a reserve lineman – appearing in 20 games from 2017-2018 but only starting three.

He sat out all of 2019 with an injury, and will look to get his career back on track in Seattle.

Warmack will compete with Jamarco Jones, Phil Haynes and Ethan Pocic for snaps at left guard, with fellow signee B.J. Finney in the mix as well.

Right guard D.J. Fluker is a potential cap casualty, and if Warmack plays well in camp he could challenge for that spot as well – although he first has to prove he is healthy.
