Seahawks make defensive tackle Al Woods signing official

The Seattle Seahawks have officially signed defensive tackle Al Woods to the roster to mark his third career stint with the team.

A week after the news first broke, the Seattle Seahawks have officially signed veteran defensive tackle Al Woods to the roster. This season will mark Woods’ third career stint with the Seahawks.

Woods first played for the Seahawks in 2011 and then again in 2019. He opted out of the season with the Jaguars last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

His contract with Seattle is apparently for one year, valued at $3.0 million with a $750,000 signing bonus, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Woods will likely compete to start in place of Jarran Reed, who was released to clear much-needed salary cap space heading into the season. Reed has now signed with Kansas City.
