Seahawks GM John Schneider: “We all need to get better”

The Seattle Seahawks just completed their second-straight 9-8 season, although they did not qualify for the playoffs this year like they did in 2022. For many, this was a disappointment, and it likely led to the end of the Pete Carroll era.

Count Seahawks general manager John Schneider in the camp who thinks Seattle needs to get better. Schneider took to the media to talk about this new era of Seahawks football, and opened as such:

Schneider went into further details of what the organization is going to look like moving forward, and some insight on the head coach search.

When Carroll gave his exit press conference, he directly stated it is John Schneider’s turn to lead the Seahawks. Right now, it appears this statement is proving to be true. For the first time in his 14 years in Seattle, Schneider is going to be the top man in charge of football operations.

The Seahawks are in search of their first new head coach since 2010. The team is in an interesting position. There are plenty of tantalizing pieces on the roster, but they are a far cry from the San Francisco 49ers or even the Los Angeles Rams.

Finding the right man to replace Carroll will be the difference between the Seahawks returning to the top of the NFC contenders tier, or falling back into irrelevancy. Fortunately, Schneider is the man we should have faith in when it comes to getting it right.
