Seahawks bringing back 2 promising guards for practice squad

According to Brady Henderson at ESPN, guard Phil Haynes is back on the practice squad after clearing waivers last week.

The Seattle Seahawks come into 2021 with a surprising amount of depth at guard. In Damien Lewis and Gabe Jackson, they have two high-level starters. They’ve also got some quality options further down the depth chart, all the way down to the practice squad.

According to Brady Henderson at ESPN, guard Phil Haynes is back on the practice squad after clearing waivers last week.

Haynes has only played 11 snaps to date but he was a standout during the preseason on the right side at both guard and tackle.

The team is also planning to re-sign the promising Jordan Simmons, per Henderson.

Update: Simmons has been re-signed to the practice squad. To make room, the team promoted tight end Tyler Mabry to the 53-man roster.
