Good morning Irish fans, Louisiana’s Amorion Walker has some good news, he has committed to Notre Dame. The six-foot-four-inch and 181-pound wide receiver chose the Irish over offers from Florida State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others.

The Irish offered Walker in November of last year and he becomes the 9th commit of the class, the first receiver. Here is what to expect out of the newest Notre Dame class of 2022 commit.

Walker is an athlete, playing both sides of the ball as his first few highlights are on the defensive side of the ball. When his tape flips over to his offensive exploits, that’s where we see what the Irish are getting. A long striding receiver, who really does a good job of making plays after the catch. Walker can take a short pass and make it into a big-gainer. With his large frame, he’s a great target in the redzone, using his body to shield off defenders.
There are a few things that Walker will need to improve on, most notably his route tree. Many of his highlights showed his ability to run a 9-route and a 10-yard slant, but that was about it. Maybe his high school offense doesn’t ask him to run other routes because he’s so effective at those two. Either way, he’s going to have to expand the tree once he arrives to South Bend.
I really like the size that Walker possess and his strides, as he runs a reported 4.5 40-yard dash. He might be a bit underrated by recruiting services, as the 247Sports composite ranks him as the 859th best overall player and the 115th best wide receiver in the country.
