Scotty Pippen Jr. is not on the Lakers’ summer league roster

Lakers fans have been very hopeful for guard Scotty Pippen Jr., but as of now, he isn’t on their summer league roster.

One of the notable undrafted free agents the Los Angeles Lakers brought aboard last summer was Scotty Pippen Jr., the son of Chicago Bulls Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen.

The younger Pippen looked like a mixed bag during summer league play in 2022, and although he barely played for the Lakers this season, he logged significant time in the G League and did rather well.

Many likely believed another year of playing summer league ball would do a lot of good for the younger Pippen. However, he is nowhere to be found on the Lakers’ summer league roster, according to Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype.

Each NBA team is going to be permitted to have three players on two-way contracts. Currently, Colin Castleton and D’Moi Hodge have been signed to two-way contracts, leaving one slot remaining.

Candidates for that final slot include forward Cole Swider, frontcourt player Alex Fudge and guard Damion Baugh.
