Rookie Los Angeles Lakers guard Scotty Pippen Jr. hasn’t had the start to his pro career some expected.
He has appeared in six games this season while averaging just 5.3 minutes, mostly in garbage time, and scoring a total of 14 points.
Pippen showed potential during summer league play, particularly when it came to attacking the basket and setting up teammates, but he also showed limitations that made it clear why he went undrafted.
He has spent most of this season in the G League. However, he has done very well there, putting up 24.3 points on 50.9% overall shooting and 41% from 3-point range to go along with 6.9 assists a game.
As a result, Pippen will take part in the NBA Rising Stars game during All-Star weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah as part of the G League squad.

It will be an opportunity for him to show his skills to a national audience that may only know him as Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen’s son rather than someone with legitimate NBA potential.
