Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes and Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green on Monday were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, respectively, for March and April.
Barnes became just the fourth rookie in franchise history to win the award multiple times after taking home the honor in February. He averaged 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, four assists and one steal on 50.5% shooting from the field in 22 games since March 1.
Green is the first Rockets rookie to win since Luis Scola in February 2008 after averaging 22.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He scored at least 30 points in five straight games from March 28 to April 5, the second-longest streak by a rookie since the 1971-72 season.
