A certain sense of hype has arrived alongside new Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Scott Turner.
Some of it has to do with the fact Turner’s arrival figures to mean a more aggressive offense.
But it sure doesn’t hurt that Turner has had his eyes on Haskins for a few years.
Turner noted the following during an interview with Redskins Nation (h/t Redskins.com’s Kyle Stackpole):
“We really liked him coming out of Ohio State, so I was able to study him as a quarterback coach,” Turner said. “Got to spend a little time with him, really liked his personality.”
After working closely with Cam Newton, among others, not to mention his longstanding history on the offensive side of the ball, it’s hard not to be excited.
While there is always a chance the Redskins find themselves in a position to grab competition for Haskins’ assumed spot, Turner’s words here should provide fans with a semblance of confidence.
With a staff seemingly all-in on surrounding Haskins with an offense tailored to his skill set, the developmental aspect looks at least better than it did when he was initially drafted.
