Scott Turner offers more praise for Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins

Dwayne Haskins has the eye of his new coach.

New Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Scott Turner wasn’t shy in detailing his past like for quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Turner again stressed with the media Wednesday he was a big fan of Haskins coming out of Ohio State.

He went a little more into the “why” of things, per ESPN’s John Keim, saying he is a “big, strong guy who can push the ball down the field. We want to use a lot of play action pass… Something he’s also done in the past is get the ball out quick, distribute the ball to the playmakers.”

Turner also took the spotlight as a chance to dive into what makes grooming a quarterback work:

Granted, comments like this don’t mean the Redskins won’t still add at least a veteran presence to the depth chart this offseason.

But Haskins is presumably the guy almost no matter what, so some public statements like this from Turner sure don’t hurt for everyone to hear — the quarterback included.
