Scorching performance in April earns Steph Curry the Western Conference Player of the Month award

After a sizzling effort with a bevy of 30 point performances in April, Steph Curry was named the Western Conference Player of the Month.

After ripping off a ridiculous set of games in April, Steph Curry made it easy for the NBA when it came down to picking the Western Conference Player of the Month.

On Tuesday, the league made it official, naming Curry the Western Conference Player of the Month for April, his 11th time winning the award in his already storied career.

During April, Curry averaged a ridiculous 37.3 points on 51.8% shooting from the field and 46.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Curry scored 32 or more points in 13 of 15 contests in April, including games with 53, 49, 47 and 41 points.

Along with his red-hot scoring numbers, the two-time Most Valuable Player added 6.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per contest in April.

On the way to winning Player of the Month, Curry rewrote the NBA’s history books. The Golden State point guard surpassed James Harden for the most triples in a single month with 96. 

Curry also became the only player in NBA history to score 30 or more points in 11 consecutive contests at age 33 or older. Kobe Bryant previously held the record with 30 or more points in 10 straight games.

On Thursday, Curry capped off the month with a 37 point effort on 11-of-27 shooting from the field in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite his fiery run in April, the Warriors will need to lean on Curry for the final eight games of the regular season in May.
