The PGA Tour is back in Jackson, Mississippi, for this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship at Country Club of Jackson.
Since becoming an annual PGA Tour stop in 2014, the course and event have routinely allowed for low scores and long-shot winners.
Reigning champ Sebastián Muñoz returns to defend his title and he’s off to a solid start. Muñoz blitzed the course for nine birdies en route to an 8-under 64 and a four-way tie for the lead.
Also with an 8-under-par 64, Charley Hoffman earned at least a share of the lead for the seventh time in his career.
“Confidence is up,” Anirban Lahiri said after he shot a 66. “I feel like I’m playing really well. I like this golf course. Last year was my first time here, and I really like the way it sets up.”
