Prediction

Padres 12, Angels 6

Moneyline (ML)

The Padres (-200) are one of the hottest teams in baseball, going 7-3 over their past 10 games. San Diego won consecutive games against the Colorado Rockies heading into this series.

The Angels (+180) dropped their last two games against the Seattle Mariners after winning three straight. Los Angeles is on track for another disappointing season with a bunch of talent but no team success to show for it.

San Diego has all the momentum and its top-notch lineup should rake against a lowly Los Angeles pitching staff over the next two games. I am PASSING ON THE MONEYLINE though because of a personal rule to not play -150 or greater favorites in the regular season.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Take a good, hard look at the alternate run line but there is still enough value in BETTING PADRES -1.5 (-134). San Diego has a 22-15 RL record and Los Angeles has the 3rd-worst RL winning percentage in the majors (13-23 RL record).

The Padres are a top-5 lineup in most categories and the Angels have a below-average pitching staff. San Diego tees off on Los Angeles 70% of the time in this spot.

New to sports betting? A $134 bet on the Padres -1.5 (-134) returns a $100 profit if San Diego beats Los Angeles by 2 or more runs.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 9.5 (-110) is a reachable number. Teheran has been bad this year and both lineups score more runs against righties. Also, the Angels have the highest Over percentage in home games (13-5 Over/Under record).

There has been hype about San Diego’s lineup for a while now and the Padres are still 20-17 O/U. The Padres are still going Over totals despite the market adjusting.
