KNOXVILLE — A former University of Tennessee baseball player has landed a job as an assistant coach in Knoxville.
Former Volunteers’ pitcher Sam Springer was recently named assistant coach at West High School.
While at UT, Springer was a member of the 2018 Spring Southeastern Conference Honor Roll during his freshman season.
Springer, a left-handed pitcher during his days on Rocky Top, is a graduate of West High.
With the Rebels, he was a four-time All-District 4-AAA standout, a two-time team Most Valuable Player and a two-time NABF All-American and a Rawlings-Perfect Game Southeast Region Honorable Mention.
