History may show the further south you go, the more entertaining the football coach, aside from the one in Tuscaloosa, of course.
Saturday Down South ranked Sam Pittman as the fourth most entertaining coach, which may not shake up the polls, but it provides some excitement for the 2022 season.

Pittman sits ahead of the biggest names in the college football world; Saban, Jimbo Fisher, and Kirby Smart. All three of those gentlemen have championships, but Pittman gets the nod for entertainment value. Of course, Pittman may not want to be at the top of the list like this, but it’s good bragging material for the pre-game conversations he’ll have this fall.
The polarizing Lane Kiffin is at the top of the entertaining mountain. The Ole Miss coach has made a name for himself, consistently finding a way to be in the headlines, whether intentional or unintentional.
Mississippi State’s Mike Leach follows behind Kiffin but is also considered the most entertaining coach in the last decade with his classic in-game and post-game interviews.
Pittman doesn’t approach the microphone with much intention of being entertaining. He’s a modest guy like Saban. However, Pittman’s personality shows outside the media room, which is very important in recruiting. A coach with a personality is a golden trait in the recruiting world. Recruits love to see coaches being colorful because it makes for good social media content.
