Sam Howell falling in latest mock from The Draft Wire

Former UNC football quarterback Sam Howell wasn’t mocked in the first round of the latest Touchdown Wire mock draft on Monday.

It’s officially draft week as the NFL world descends on Las Vegas for the three-day event beginning on Thursday night. For our friends over at Touchdown Wire, the final mocks are starting to roll in as they are making their projections for what will happen beginning Thursday.

In Laurie Fitzpatrick’s updated mock, there are three quarterbacks taken in the first round and former UNC quarterback [autotag]Sam Howell[/autotag] was not one of them.

Fitzpatrick has Kenny Pickett going first at No. 16 overall to the New Orleans Saints followed by Desmond Ridder at No. 20 overall to Pittsburgh and finally Malik Willis at No. 32 overall to the Detroit Lions.

This appears to be a common theme for Howell in this draft process, unfortunately. He’s fallen out of the first round in several mocks and it would be surprising to hear his name called come Thursday night.

BUT this is the NFL and teams do take chances on quarterbacks. Will one take a chance on Howell?
