Sam Darnold is finding some new workout buddies this offseason.
Darnold has spent the majority of the offseason working with trainer Jordan Palmer out in Southern California. He also organized a workout with the majority of the Jets’ offensive playmakers this past weekend in Florida. On Wednesday, however, Darnold was seen working out at UCLA with two of the league’s most prominent running backs: Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey.

Darnold’s approach to this offseason has been nothing short of spectacular. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic preventing Darnold and all other NFL players from entering their facilities, Darnold has still put the work in.
That’s leadership at its finest right there. Darnold understands that this season is the biggest yet of his young career. He’s had a year in Adam Gase’s system now and he has what’s expects to be a better supporting cast. The offensive line should be drastically improved, while the weaponry should be stronger as well.
Training camp is right around the corner and everyone is probably going to be a step behind because of the pandemic. Darnold, however, is doing whatever he can to be prepared for camp and the start of the 2020 regular season.
