The Philadelphia 76ers continue to revamp their entire organization following a disappointing season on the floor in 2019-20. The first order of business was to bring in Doc Rivers to replace Brett Brown and there was some front office retooling.
On Wednesday, those moves were amplified even more. The Sixers brought in Daryl Morey to run the team’s basketball operations and the team also brought in Dan Burke to join Rivers’ coaching staff that already featured Dave Joerger.
Now, Philadelphia is bringing in a former Rivers assistant during his days with the Los Angeles Clippers and that would be former NBA champion, Sam Cassell. The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey reports that the Sixers will bring in Cassell to join Rivers’ staff which was always the plan if he did not receive a head coaching gig.

Cassell was an All-Star and 3-time champ during his playing days and he has been an assistant coach for 11 seasons now. He spent the last six of those seasons with Rivers in Los Angeles.
Philadelphia continues to beef up its organization with more basketball minds which is exactly what general manager Elton Brand wanted. The Sixers appear to be making the best moves in the right direction. [lawrence-related id=38664,38659,38656]
