The Arizona Cardinals and first-round draft pick Isaiah Simmons have reportedly agreed to a four-year contract. Simmons is the first of the Cardinals’ six draft picks to come to terms, as rookies are set to report to training camp Tuesday.
The deal is reportedly for $20.66 million and is fully guaranteed. His signing bonus is $12.58 million.
The details for his deal and his cap hit are also known, according to Spotrac.
Here are the yearly salary and cap hits. His signing bonus will be spread out over the four years against the cap, counting $3.15 million each year.
2020: $610,000 salary, $3.76 million cap hit
2021: $1.55 million salary, $4.70 million cap hit
2022: $2.49 million salary, $5.64 million cap hit
2023: $3.43 million salary, $6.57 million cap hit
The Cardinals had roughly $9 million in salary cap space left before Simmons’ deal. That should decrease to about $6 million once Simmons’ deal becomes official.
