The New Orleans Saints continue their momentum toward reaching the 53-man roster. This time they have waived second-year offensive lineman Lewis Kidd, per Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football. Kidd was a member of the 53-man roster last season as offensive line depth, playing in 13 games and even starting one due to injuries. He primarily lined up at guard last season.

Kidd will be eligible to return to the Saints practice squad pending that he clears waivers. Considering his status on last year’s roster, if he were to clear waivers he would be an obvious candidate to be added.

Lewis did struggle in preseason this year, however, playing in all three games and accruing 178 total snaps at left tackle. He allowed 10 pressures, a sack, and had three penalties in that span of time. With the Saints having previous injuries along the offensive line in the past two seasons, having Kidd on the practice squad would be beneficial without a doubt.
