This is tough. The New Orleans Saints announced that veteran running back Mark Ingram II wouldn’t return against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8’s game after suffering a knee injury. Ingram was initially reported as questionable to return while testing his knee on the sidelines, but after receiving attention in the medical tent he was escorted to the locker room for further evaluation.
Ingram played often in the game’s first minutes, taking all three snaps on the scripted opening drive, though he only caught one reception for a 2-yard gain. Now that he’s been ruled out from returning, the Saints will ask more out of Alvin Kamara and his backup Dwayne Washington. Those two are the only available running backs for the rest of Sunday’s game against the Raiders with Jordan Howard and Jake Funk inactive on the practice squad.
