Saints losers in 2020 schedule for having to play the Vikings on Christmas

USA TODAY made winners and losers of the 2020 schedule, and listed the Saints as a loser for having to play the Vikings on Christmas Day

New Orleans has not had any luck taking down Minnesota in the playoffs recently.

The Vikings beat the Saints in overtime in the last playoffs. Before that, there was also the Minneapolis Miracle.

USA TODAY compiled winners and losers after the release of the 2020 schedules, and the outlet listed the Saints as a loser for having to play the Vikings on Christmas Day.

Here’s what it said:

“Slotted on Thanksgiving night the past two years, the Who Dats must now play Dec. 25, the Friday of Week 16. And we already know this game will wind up being called the “Christmas Miracle” or some such, Vikings rookie and LSU product Justin Jefferson sure to haul in some mind-boggling game winner to leave coal in the stockings of the home team.”

Minnesota isn’t necessarily a big winner for having to play New Orleans on Christmas, with the game resulting in a shortened week of practice and the holidays being a distraction. A win on the road against a team like the Saints could definitely bode well for the Vikings’ playoff chances, though.
