Saints issue clarification on rookie RB Kendre Miller injury status

The Saints issued clarification on rookie RB Kendre Miller’s injury. He still didn’t practice Wednesday, but he was held out with a hamstring, not a knee issue:

The New Orleans Saints issued a clarification Thursday on the injury report they published Wednesday, their first of the regular season; specifically focusing on rookie running back Kendre Miller.

Miller did not practice Wednesday while managing a hamstring issue, but the team erroneously listed him as a non-participant due to a knee injury. His status will be updated on Thursday afternoon’s injury report to reflect that.

It’s been a rough summer for the rookie. Miller was held out of minicamp and summer practices while recovering from a knee injury he suffered in college, and he made some plays in the Saints’ second preseason game after knocking off the rust. But he suffered a hamstring injury last week and now it’s looking increasingly unlikely that he’ll be able to suit up with his teammates when they host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Hopefully he heals up soon to make the most of his opportunity before Alvin Kamara returns from a three-game suspension to start the season.
