Mueller was the Saints general manager from 2000-2001. In his first year with the team, the Saints won the NFC West and found themselves winning their first playoff game in franchise history.
After his stint with the Saints, Mueller would spend four years serving as an NFL analyst for ESPN before being hired by the Miami Dolphins in 2005. Mueller would also spend time with the Chargers before heading to the semi-pro ranks. His most recent work came as the director of player personnel with the Seattle Sea Dragons in 2022 and 2023.
Mueller will now join Dave Ziegler and Jeff Ireland as former NFL general managers that will be working in the Saints front office.
