The 2020-21 PGA Tour season has officially begun.
Less than one week after Dustin Johnson won the Tour Championship in Atlanta, the Safeway Open is kicking off the new PGA Tour season in Napa, California.
Sam Burns holds a two-shot lead after 36-holes following a 7-under 65 Friday at Silverado Resort & Spa’s North Course. Harry Higgs, who carded an albatross on his final hole of the day, sits in second at 13 under.
Cameron Percy, Russell Knox and D.J. Trahan are T-3 at 12 under.
Major winners Jordan Spieth, Sergio Garcia and Shane Lowry were among the players to miss the 36-hole cut.
