The Jacksonville Jaguars are going through a bit of a defensive overhaul in 2020, and former LSU edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson looks to play a role in that — especially with Yannick Ngakoue out of the fold.
It’s likely we’ll see Chaisson take on a large part of the overall effort, but he’s got some specific goals, including sacking a specific pair of quarterbacks.
One of those is his former signal-caller, Joe Burrow.
“I think for sure, I’m gonna have to go with two,” Chaisson recently said on Inside Training Camp Live. “Number one Lamar (Jackson). He’s one of the most elusive quarterbacks to go against. Of course you have to beat the tackle, but I feel like the job gets ten times harder because you have to try and bring him down. Number two would have to be Joe (Burrow). I’ve been playing with him for two years (at LSU) and never got a chance to really tackle him. I watched him play against other teams and he’s pretty hard to bring down and tackle. I feel like those are two people my eyes are set on. Once I get those I’ll scratch two things off the list.”

Like in so many previous years, the Jaguars head into the 2020 season as underdogs, projected to finish last in the AFC South division by several analysts this offseason.
But Chaisson is prepared for the challenge.
“I promise you it’s a hungry team,” he said. “I can say for myself, I’m definitely trying to prove myself a lot. From the great pass rush this team had, (the nickname) “Sacksonville,” it’s a lot to live up to. I can speak for myself the chip on my shoulder is so huge and I’m going out there everyday with the mindset that I have high expectations to live up to and also to myself.”
Chaisson was a force at LSU, though he was hindered by injury for a stretch of time.

On the team’s national championship-winning 2019 season, Chaisson recorded 60 total tackles, 34 solo tackles, 6.5 sacks, two passes defensed and one forced fumble.
The Jaguars are set to kick off their season at home against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 13.
