S Anthony Harris listed as the player the Vikings should re-sign

Do you think the Minnesota Vikings will keep S Anthony Harris next year?

Anthony Harris was coming off a stellar 2019, which led to the Vikings franchise tagging him.

Harris is not having the same season this year. However, he’s still decent in coverage and a very good tackler. Based on his body of work, he should still command a decent salary in 2021.

Bleacher Report thinks Minnesota should try to re-sign him. The outlet listed Harris as a player that the Vikings need to keep. Here’s what is said about the safety:

“As Minnesota looks to improve its 24th-ranked pass defense, it should build around Harris instead of replacing him. It’s unclear if he can replicate the elite season he had in 2019. However, it’s unlikely the Vikings will find an upgrade, and the NFL draft can be a crapshoot regarding defensive backs.”

When Harris’ contract is up after the 2020 season, the Vikings will have a decision to make. With Harrison Smith already on the roster, the team would probably have to give pretty big contracts to two safeties.

With Minnesota’s 2021 cap situation, it remains to be seen whether the team will go through with that.
