[autotag]Ryan Preece[/autotag] currently drives the No. 41 Cup car for Stewart-Haas Racing in his first full-time season but the results have not been as expected. Preece sits 27th in the point standings with one top-5 finish, one top-10 finish, and a 22.3 average finishing position. Stewart-Haas Racing has been down as a whole; however, will the driver of the No. 41 car get another opportunity?
According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, Preece is expected to return for another season in the No. 41 car for Stewart-Haas Racing. This comes after the organization denied the possibility of selling up to two charters for the 2024 NASCAR season, which would have put Preece’s job status in jeopardy moving forward.
Overall, this would be the correct call as Preece would instantly become the second-most experienced NASCAR Cup Series driver at Stewart-Haas Racing if Aric Almirola retires from the sport. The Connecticut native may not be showing the consistent speed that many thought he would have this season but there should be another opportunity on the way in 2024.
