With the NFL trade deadline looming on Tuesday, there’s been speculation about whether or not the Chicago Bears will be buyers or sellers.
But it sounds like general manager Ryan Pace will attempt to be active in some way, as he’ll have an “aggressive mindset” ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
“We’re always looking at ways to improve our team,” Pace said on the WBBM Newsradio 780 pregame show. “This time of year there’s so much constant dialogue with all the other teams; it’s constantly ongoing. I think if something presents itself to make us better, we’ll always talk through it as a staff. It’s no different this week. We’ve made several trades this season and our aggressive mindset will be ongoing.”
While it’s unclear whether the Bears would be buyers or sellers, it would make sense for Chicago to attempt to shop some key veterans that could help some teams in pursuit of a playoff berth.
Wide receiver Allen Robinson and defensive tackle Akiem Hicks have been names mentioned among speculation talks, but it’s certainly no guarantee.
It would make the most sense for the Bears to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline, where they could part ways with a key veteran for the right price.
