Ryan Grubb pens goodbye message, signaling a likely move to Alabama

Take Grubb off the list of potential head coach candidates at Washington.

It has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Husky Nation over the last week or so. The team went from competing for a national championship to losing their head coach to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb was one of the candidates we listed as the potential replacement for Kalen DeBoer. Grubb has been with DeBoer in multiple stops including Sioux Falls, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, and Washington.

In his message shared on X, formerly Twitter, Grubb revealed that he would not be the next head coach of the Huskies. Instead, he penned a goodbye message and all signs point to him heading to Alabama to join DeBoer.

The Crimson Tide was one of two teams that tried to lure Grubb away from Washington after last season, the other was Notre Dame. Now it seems that Alabama will get their wish a season later as Grubb is likely on his way to Tuscaloosa. If that is indeed the case, you can likely close the book on the Tommy Rees era with the Tide.
