Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have ratchetted up hype for a prospective showdown.

Garcia, appearing on Mike Tyson’s “Hot Boxin’” podcast, and Davis had a spirited exchange on Facetime in which they agreed informally to fight one another. When? No one knows. But the lightweight contenders are certainly building interest.

Garcia got up from a second round knockdown to stop Luke Campbell in the seventh this past Saturday in Dallas.

“Two rounds, baby, two rounds” said Garcia, predicting he’d knock out Davis. “Two rounds, you going to sleep. It’s not gonna hurt. I promise you it’s not gonna hurt. You gonna need a ladder to hit me.

“How tall are you? You 5-5. You gonna need a ladder to hit me. You gonna need a StairMaster. Boy, you won’t be able to touch me. You ain’t never fought a 135[-pounder] in your life. This different. I don’t care what you say. You ain’t got nothing.

“You too ugly to be champ. And that’s from Muhammad Ali. Boy, I’m pretty! You ain’t never seen nothing like me. I promise you, you gonna go down.”

Davis pointed out that Garcia was dropped by a fighter not known for his punching power before saying, “We fighting next, we fighting next.”

Garcia responded: “He said it. The world knows, he said it, next fight. There’s no going back now.”
