Rutgers wrestling continued to bulk up its schedule, adding a pair of quality out-of-conference match-ups.
On Monday, the Scarlet Knights announced that they have added Buffalo and Princeton to their non-conference schedule. The addition of Princeton is notable as the Tigers are traditionally one of the top programs in the Big Ten.
Last season, Princeton went a disappointing 4-11. They last won the Ivy League in 2020.
This could well be a bounce-back season for Rutgers, as the Scarlet Knights finished No. 22 in the final 2022-23 NWCA Coaches Poll. They did place two All-Americans last year (John Poznanski and Jackson Turley) but as a team, it was still a step down from their usual standard.
Last season, Rutgers had an epic contest with Princeton, winning 17-16 at Jadwin Gym (Princeton, N.J.)
Dates and times for the recently announced additions of Buffalo and Princeton are not yet known. Currently, seven home matches are known for Rutgers, including a recently announced match-up with Virginia Tech.
