Rutgers men’s lacrosse now drops after Big Ten loss at Ohio State

Rutgers lacrosse moves down in the latest rankings following loss in their Big Ten opener.

Following a loss in their Big Ten opener over the weekend, Rutgers men’s lacrosse has slipped in the latest polls.

No. 9 Rutgers is down three spots in this week’s Inside Lacrosse rankings.

Despite holding an edge is shots (43:37) and faceoffs won (14:7), Rutgers men’s lacrosse lost 11-7 at Ohio State on Sunday evening. Inefficiency in front of goal cost Rutgers in being upset on the road.

Ohio State rattled off five straight goals on either side of halftime to build a 7-2 lead.

With the loss, Rutgers is now 7-2 (0-1 Big Ten). No. 14 Ohio State moved up five spots with the win.

The poll features a heavy representation from the Big Ten:
