Saturday’s 10-9 win over UMass sees Rutgers wrestling move up one spot in this week’s national rankings.
The weekend game took place at a neutral site (Farmingdale, New York) and gives Rutgers (6-2) some momentum heading into the Big Ten schedule.
With the win, Rutgers moved up one spot and is now No. 18 in the nation in the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll. They are 6-2 and begin Big Ten action this weekend when they host No. 11 Johns Hopkins.
It gets real now for Rutgers, who see four of their next five games against ranked opponents. Two of those are against top 10 opposition (at No. 8 Maryland and against No. 7 Penn State).
Those are the final two matches of the season for Rutgers.
Army remained the top team in the nation in the Inside Lacrosse rankings.

Rutgers’ two losses this season came against No. 1 Army and No. 14 Princeton.
Last week, following their home loss to Princeton, Rutgers dropped several spots in the poll. They were also ranked No. 19 nationally last week in the USILA Coaches Poll in addition to the Inside Lacrosse ranking.
