Rutgers loses captain Mo Toure after season-ending ACL tear

A big blow for Rutgers.

The UCLA Bruins have a lot of new opponents on the 2024 schedule with their move to the Big Ten Conference. One of them is the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in what will be a long distance traveled between the two schools.

In 2024, UCLA and Rutgers face off In Piscataway in October, which is one reason why UCLA travels more miles than any other Big Ten team this season.

The Scarlet Knights might be in for a difficult season, and things took a brutal turn with senior defensive captain Mo Toure being ruled out for the season due to a torn ACL, per Pat Lanni.

“Greg Schiano just announced that LB and senior captain Mo Toure will be out for the season with a torn ACL. It’s a significant blow for a defense that was counting on his dynamic ability. More to come.”

This is now the second ACL tear in three years for Toure, so it’s a big blow to the Rutgers defense ahead of the 2024 season.

UCLA and Rutgers face off on October 19.
