Rutgers basketball Jeremiah Williams and Rutgers softball Katie Wingert received Big Ten Player of the Week honors for their performances last week.
Since he became eligible on February 3, Williams has immediately impacted the Rutgers basketball lineup, averaging 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists in Rutgers’ two victories at Maryland and over No. 11 Wisconsin last week.
Rutgers is 3-0 since the redshirt junior has returned to action, capturing a 69-59 victory against Michigan in William’s return. William recorded ten points and six rebounds in 29 minutes in the victory over Michigan. The Chicago, Illinois native has started all three games since his return and scored double-digits in all three victories.
Williams is the third-ever player at Rutgers to win the Big Ten Player of the Week Award, with Cam Spencer receiving the award in 2023 and Geo Baker winning it twice in the previous two seasons.
