Will the real Rutgers men’s basketball team please stand up? On Saturday, the Scarlet Knights rolled to an impressive win over No. 11 Wisconsin.
It was such an impressive win that Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard admitted that “Rutgers was better than us in all capacities today.”
With the win, Rutgers is now 13-10 (5-7 Big Ten). Wisconsin will like tumble in the polls following this loss. The Badgers are 16-8 (8-5 Big Ten).
Rutgers was up by nine points at halftime and simply continued to roll in the second half. By nearly every statistical category, Rutgers was not just better, they were dominant.
They were the more efficient team from the floor (44.8 percent to 32.8 percent), three-point shooting (55.8 percent to 23.8 percent) and rebound (43:10).
Defensively, Rutgers made Wisconsin uncomfortable all game long in what was the most impressive and complete performance of the season from the Scarlet Knights.

“We spent two days to prepare. This is the first time we got crossed. But I thought we were way too tentative, we weren’t aggressive enough , sometimes making bad decisions,” Gard told reporters after the game.
“We need work. We are aggressive enough. We’re too passive. We’ve seen pressure before, but you’ve got to turn it against them. You’ve got to put some pressure back on them and the floor is open. You got to make plays. And we did at times. But not enough and threw the ball to places that you shouldn’t have no business. Rutgers was better than us in all capacities today.”
Rutgers has now won three straight games. Wisconsin has lost their last four.
