Rutgers basketball recruiting: Jaylen Harrell posts his top six

Jaylen Harrell cuts down to a top six.

One of the top players in the 2025 recruiting class, Jaylen Harrell, rolled out his top six this week. And the cutdown of Harrell’s list is good news for Rutgers basketball.

Harrell is a four-star forward. Rivals ranks him as the No. 91 player in the nation. He plays for CATS Academy (Braintree, Massachusetts).

ESPN ranks Harrell the No. 23 small forward in the nation. He has a top six of Rutgers, Wake Forest, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Xavier and Providence.

Georgetown, UMass and Washington were among the teams that didn’t make the cut. The top six announcement was made by Harrell on Thursday via a social media post:

For Rutgers, there is a lot of momentum on the recruiting front. The class of 2024 is ranked third in the nation by Rivals. It features two players ranked as five-star recruits in guard Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey.
