Rutgers basketball latest to offer forward Qin Pang

Rutgers basketball offered forward Qin Pang this weekend.

Qin Pang got an offer from Rutgers basketball over the weekend, putting the Big Ten program in the mix along with strong offers that are both local and national.

The Chinese-born Pang has a strong pedigree. In 2019, he was named the MVP and was a big part of the championship-winning team in the nation’s U15 basketball academy tournament.

Pang’s offer list includes fellow Big Ten program Illinois as well as Oregon from the Pac-12. In addition, he has offers from the likes of Iona, Marist, UMass, St. John’s and Rhode Island.

The 6-foot-9 forward is a strong ball-handler for his size. He is a rim protector who is a good defender, rebounds well and can block shots.

Pang tweeted about the offer over the weekend:

Rutgers basketball already has a highly-rated recruit in the class of 2024. In early June, the Scarlet Knights received a commitment from four-star Gavin Griffiths.

The Connecticut recruit is a consensus top-50 player in the nation and is the highest-ranked commit in Steve Pikiell’s era as head coach.
