Rutgers baseball adds two-time All-MAAC Manhattan College outfielder Pete Durocher to their 2024 roster via the transfer portal.

Rutgers baseball adds two-time All-MAAC outfielder Pete Durocher to their 2024 roster via the transfer portal. Duricher, from Emerson, New Jersey, played three seasons with the Manhattan College Jaspers, leading the team with a .335 batting average, 80 hits, and an OPS of .915 this past season.

As a redshirt junior, Durocher appeared in 55 games for the Jaspers, recording eight home runs, 16 doubles, and three triples for a .527 slugging percentage. Against Canisius in the 2023 MAAC Championship, the New Jersey native went 3-5 with two runs and three RBI.

In 2022, Durocher received First Team All-MAAC, ABCA/Rawlings Second-Team All-Region, ECAC Honorable Mention selection, and PGCBL All-League First Team honoree. He appeared in 47 games for Manhattan College, recording a .350 batting average, 45 RBIs, 13 doubles, and six home runs. Also, he led the Jaspers in stolen bases with 15, ranking him fourth in the MAAC.

While attending Emerson Junior-Senior High School in New Jersey, the new Scarlet Knight led the Cavaliers to the State Championship and a pair of Section titles. Also, he earned First Team All-League honors and Second Team All-North Jersey honors as a junior and senior.

The Scarlet Knights now have seven 2024 recruits from the transfer portal as Rutgers head coach Steve Owens continues to target transfers this summer to rebuild his 2024 roster.
