The world of sports lends itself to hot takes and quick-trigger, knee-jerk opinions which are premature or overstated. Kristian Dyer laid out Rutgers’ 2023 schedule. He noted how difficult it will be for RU to beat the big boys in the Big Ten. Therefore, if Rutgers is to go 6-6 and make a bowl game, it has to beat the middle-tier and lower-tier teams in the conference. Enter Northwestern in a September 3 game on CBS Sports. If Rutgers wins that game, it will set up the rest of the season in such a way that the Scarlet Knights — should they win the games they are supposed to win — can go bowling.
